How Life Kicks You When You Are Down

I'm going to be completely honest here. I've been too depressed to blog. Every damn thing seemed to be coming at us all at once.

May 4, 2009. Jim's accident. It has left him with 40 - 50% disability in his left hand. We've been waiting since his medical discharge to find out what they are willing to offer us as compensation.

First week December, 2009. The job he'd been working at for 4 and a half years goes poof. The shop just closed down...3 weeks before Christmas.......REALLY?

No unemployment money arrives until AFTER Christmas. (Thank you friends who helped us pull through this).

Christmas is snowed out. Yep, 1/2 my meal was 100 miles away. As were the only gifts the kids were really gonna get.

A few days after Christmas: Propane runs out. (Thanks to A&S who fix this issue for us.)

During the Christmas freeze out, we lose 3 goats to the weather.

Next round of storms, 2 lambs born. (Healthy, thank goodness)

And now every damn critter I own, save the goats and the bull have figured out how to get out of their previously secure pastures/pens.

The pigs are going back into stock panel pens...as soon as we figure out where to put them. It's soo damned muddy, and they just make things worse. It's good for plowing up the garden, not so good when there are 32x32 mud bogs and they are up to their elbows in mud.

Oh, and we ran out of propane again.

Jim did get a new job, but the weather is playing havoc w/ his check. If he's not working, he's not getting paid.
